- The team entry fee must accompany the team roster and must be submitted by the entry deadline posted on the schedule page. The entry fee can be paid by Visa or Master Card.
- Rosters must have four players listed.
- Roster Changes will not be allowed after the entry deadline. Changes made prior to the deadline must be sent IN WRITING along with a $5.00 processing fee.
- Players may only appear on ONE ROSTER. Players violating this rule may be disqualified from playing in the tournament.
- Be Accurate! – Player’s heights and other personal information will be checked during the on-site registration process. Providing inaccurate information may disqualify your team.

DIVISION BREAKDOWNS:
Gus Macker has maintained the purity of the backyard driveway game in a way that makes the tournament the most competitive for everyone. Here are some of the things you should know when putting together your team:
- Please provide the age of each player as of the date of the tournament you are entering.
- Teams are placed into male and female divisions within one of the following categories:
JUNIOR DIVISIONS (AGES 18 & UNDER)
Teams will be place into pre-established age brackets as follows:
- 10 & under 11-12 13-14 15-16 17-18
- To ensure the proper placement of your team, please make sure that all four (4) players fit the established age category.
- If a player does not meet the age requirement, your team will be placed into the category of your oldest player.
Every effort will be made to place teams into the age categories. Gus Macker will change or combine age categories ONLY when not enough teams have entered to complete an age division.
In a few instances, Gus Macker may have to create co-ed divisions within these age categories. Your team will be notified of this prior to the tournament if it occurs.
ADULT DIVISIONS (AGES 19 & OVER)
As a general rule, Adult teams are computer-matched into divisions according to average age, height and playing experience of all four (4) players. Most divisions will have between 16-20 teams.
SPECIAL 30 & OVER DIVISIONS:
Teams will be placed into pre-established age brackets as follows:
- "30 - 34", "35 - 39", 40 & Over
To ensure the proper placement of your team, please make sure that all four (4) players fit the established age category.
If a player does not meet the age requirement, your team will be placed into the category of your youngest player.

Most experienced level of play.
ELIGIBILITY OF AMATEUR ATHLETES
- Gus Macker is not responsible for players violating state high school or NCAA rules.
- Prep Athletes (Jr. High & High School)
As a general rule, interscholastic basketball players are eligible to participate in Gus Macker tournaments. Players should, however, check with their Coach/Athletic Director to ensure compliance with your state’s rules and regulations.
COLLEGE
Current intercollegiate basketball players are permitted to participate in Gus Macker Tournaments held between June 15 and August 31. A letter from the athlete’s college or university’s athletic department must be sent to Gus Macker granting permission to participate in a Macker event. In addition, no more than one player from any one college team can appear on a Macker roster.
Note: There are no restrictions on the participation of Division III student-athletes in outside basketball competition during the summer. Also, the player limitation from any one college team does NOT apply to Division II or Division III student-athletes.
GAME SCHEDULES
Game Schedules will
normally be available online Friday of the week prior to the tournament weekend. NOTE: Occasionally revisions may need to be made to team schedules, please continue to check the website for any possible revisions to your team schedule.
WEATHER POLICY
Adverse weather conditions and unplayable conditions may result in the following:
- Games may be delayed or the points required to win a game may be reduced.
- The tournament format may be changed from double elimination to single elimination or other steps may be taken.
- In the unfortunate likelihood that a tournament is canceled due to weather, teams will not be refunded in full for entry fees paid. The exact cost will be determined by tournament officials, however the maximum amount paid to a team will be $20.
TROPHIES AND AWARDS
Top quality, custom-designed awards are presented in every division for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, Toilet Bowl and Sportsmanship teams. Over 30% of tournament teams win some type of award.
