3-ON-3 TOURNAMENT IN LUDINGTON

 

Registration is open for the premier 3-on-3 Charity Gus Macker tournament at Stearns Park Beach in Ludington. This 31st annual event is set for June 17-18 and will welcome 500 teams to the lakeshore.

 

With a Lake Michigan beach backdrop, Ludington will host 35 courts that will line Lakeshore Drive and Stearns Outer Drive. Food and merchandise vendors are part of the event, adding a festive flair to the tournament grounds on Father’s Day weekend.

 

The Ludington Gus Macker is a charity event, benefiting local sports and service clubs, and organizers are looking forward to making significant donations again this year. The event is organized by the Chamber Alliance of Mason County.

 

In 2022, the total sum of contributions made by all of our sponsors enabled the committee and Chamber, following tournament expenses, to make $15,500 in charitable donations (ie., area school athletic programs). In addition, Mason County vendors ran concessions, which resulted in more funds going back to nonprofit organizations in the community.

 

Gus Macker 3-on-3 tournaments are designed for basketball players who love the fun of the driveway game – male or female, from age 7 to 70-plus, short and tall, the most experienced or those with little or no experience who just want to play.

 

Registration for each team of four players is $180, and sign-up ends May 29 at 5 PM. Tournament check-in will be held at Ludington Elementary School, 5771 W. Bryant Rd., Ludington. Community members interested in volunteering at the event should contact Kathy Fisher at 231.845.7018.
