Special Honorees are not part of an anniversary induction class, but have earned recognition for contributions to Gus Macker Basketball. The late Warren Reynolds was the sports director at WOOD-TV, channel 8, in Grand Rapids for several years. He is remembered for his charitable acts, and his love of sports. He was enamored with the Gus Macker story and sent his reporters to cover it year after year. Warren's father Bob Reynolds was a sports play-by-play man who for years called the network Detroit Lions and Michigan State football games on radio. Warren worked with him as a color analyst late in his father's career, too. Warren is remembered each year by the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame when someone is named the Warren Reynolds Lifetime Achievement Award winner.
